On April 25, 2024, Despoina Tsiafaki, the Director of Research and Head of the Department of Culture and Creative Industries, will participate with the presentation “Pottery as a methodological tool for the study of colonization and human mobility” at the Scientific Conference BRIdgiNG LIFEways in Populations of Historic periods (BRING LIFE IN HISTORY): Reconstructing the way of life in the societies of historical periods through interdisciplinary approaches. The Conference will take place in AMPHITHEATRO III, in KE. D. E. A. A.U.Th. and is conducted within the framework of the research program BIOSOCIOPOLIS: The bioarchaeology of socio-political changes in Amphipolis, which is hosted at the Department of History and Archeology of the A.U.Th.

In the framework of the two-day conference “Archaeology and Narrative” | Completion of Archaeological sites and excavation of human experiences (https://2023eleusis.eu/en/programma-diimeridas-archaiologia-kai-afigimatikotita/), the Director of Research and Head of the Department of Culture and Creative Industries, Dr. Despoina Tsiafaki, will participate on Saturday, March 30, in the thematic “Digital Technologies and Performing Arts in Cultural Heritage”, and will talk about the myEleusis project (https://myeleusis.com/)

In the context of the 36th scientific meeting on the archaeological work in Macedonia and Thrace, on Friday 29 March 2024 at 9.45 a.m., in the ceremony hall of the old building of the Faculty of Philosophy of AUTH, the presentation entitled “Karabournaki 2023: issues of protection and promotion of the ancient settlement” will be given by Mrs. E. On April 2-3, 2024 ILSP / Athena RC participates in the Symposium and Parallel Exhibition of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation on “Protection and Promotion of the Greek Cultural Heritage“, which will be held at the National Research Foundation in Athens. Various projects related to the Highlighting and Presentation of the rich cultural heritage of the country will be presented, including myEleusis. Dr Vassilis Evangelidis (Athena RC) on Thursday, March 20 2024, at 16:00 (EET) participates to the first, free virtual CPD course for Greek school teachers, focusing on the theme The Ancient City: Public Space and Public Ritual, with the lecture entitled “The transformation of the Greek city in the Roman period: new uses, new practices, new aesthetics“. Participants will follow a series of four virtual lectures, introducing the main themes of the module and providing new case studies beyond the school syllabus. The course will be in Greek language.
