After being invited by the General Lyceum of Abdera, Vassilis Evaggelidis, Meliana Karta and Yiannis Mourthos of the Department of Culture and Creative Industries (RC Athena/ IEL Xanthi), will present the Department’s actions in the field of culture and of the digitization of cultural heritage at the school on 24/4/2024.
On April 12, 2024 Dr. Despoina Tsiafaki will make a presentation entitled The employment of digital tools in the study of ancient Thrace in the conference taking place between 11 and 13 April 2024, in the Faculty of History of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The international scientific conference is entitled ‘Researches of Ancient Thrace between Traditionality and Modernity: Theoretical Aspects and Scientific Methodology” and is organized by the team of the project “Measuring Ancient Thrace” (KP-06-H50/3 of 30.11.2020).
On April 25, 2024, Despoina Tsiafaki, the Director of Research and Head of the Department of Culture and Creative Industries, will participate with the presentation “Pottery as a methodological tool for the study of colonization and human mobility” at the Scientific Conference BRIdgiNG LIFEways in Populations of Historic periods (BRING LIFE IN HISTORY): Reconstructing the way of life in the societies of historical periods through interdisciplinary approaches. The Conference will take place in AMPHITHEATRO III, in KE. D. E. A. A.U.Th. and is conducted within the framework of the research program BIOSOCIOPOLIS: The bioarchaeology of socio-political changes in Amphipolis, which is hosted at the Department of History and Archeology of the A.U.Th.

In the context of the 36th scientific meeting on the archaeological work in Macedonia and Thrace, on Friday 29 March 2024 at 9.45 a.m., in the ceremony hall of the old building of the Faculty of Philosophy of AUTH, the presentation entitled “Karabournaki 2023: issues of protection and promotion of the ancient settlement” will be given by Mrs. E.
